Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana is planning to create a monument to mark the green revolution. For this, PAU is likely to seek support of Avtarjeet Dhanjal, a UK-based sculptor.
This was the result of a meeting between Dhanjal and Dr. Manjit Singh Kang, vice-chancellor of PAU, during a recent visit by the international renowned sculptor. PAU seeks to come up with a monument highlighting the growth and development in agriculture, informed Dr. Kang.
The varsity walls adorn several art pieces from some of the great artists including Nek Chand, Paramjit Singh, Satish Gujral, BK Roy and Shiv Singh.
“I have asked the authorities to send me a proposal and then, I will decide on how to go about it,” said Avtarjit Dhanjal.
