Sikh musician and former guitarist join hands to promote walking among Malaysians

On May 15, both Dya Singh and Vikram Singh (earlier name-Vic Briggs) will begin their walk from Kuala Lumpur to Melaka. The duo has a few things in common. Both are musicians, in their sixties and have a deep interest in Sikh spiritual music.
Dya Singh, who loves to explore the natural beauty of Malaysia, had walked from Penang to Kuala Lumpur last year and from Ipoh to Kuala Lumpur nearly two years ago.
Dya feels that “Walking is good for health, especially as one gets older. It is also a great way to get in touch with nature and one’s soul.”
Being an ardent lover of beautiful bounties of nature, Dya loves “blue skies, little traffic on the trunk road and meeting lovely kampung folks and of course, the nasi lemak, laksa, mee goring, cendol, coconut water, sugar cane juice, durians and other fruits,” of Malaysia.
“In my music career so far, I have travelled to many countries. For me, none can match Malaysia and I have not yet seen all of it. If I can spend my remaining years just seeing and enjoying Malaysia, I shall consider myself very fortunate,” admits Dya with a smile.
