Innovative telecom service launched in Punjab

Also, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMDA) plans to scale down a mega project in Mohali.

Ping Mobile's new plan launched in Punjab
Ping Mobile of the HFCL Infotel Ltd. announced a special ‘Pay Per Second’ Plan for the prepaid subscribers in Punjab telecom circle on Oct. 29.

Following this, the eligible subscribers can now enjoy local and STD calls at just one paisa per second. They just need to get a recharge of Rs. 52 to avail the facility.

Until now, none of the other telecom services operating in the Punjab circle have introduced such a plan.

The introduction of STD calls at almost a negligible rate is the USP of this plan, which makes Ping Mobile a leader in innovation, said Sanjay Bahl, Spokesperson PING Mobile.

Launched in 2007, Ping Mobile is the first telecom venture of India to introduce this plan.

GMDA to scale down mega project in Mohali
With no prospective takers, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMDA) is contemplating cutting down a five-star international convention centre project in Mohali.

The mega project, to be developed under a public-private mode, had been approved by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal last year.

It was proposed to be constructed over a 16 acre area in Sector-62, Mohali with a capacity of 5000 seats. The project also involves development of a hotel with a capacity of 300 rooms and a commercial site at the proposed place.

Sources reveal that the GMDA executive members are contemplating delinking all the three components of the project to ensure early execution.

The final decision would be taken by the Punjab Infrastructure Development Board, which is executing the project on behalf of GMADA.
