Scores of fans used to eagerly wait for the ‘Little Master’ to come out to bat when he was part of the Indian cricket team. Sachin Tendulkar may have retired, but his fan following hasn’t. The wait continues even today. This time, the wait is for his biopic; ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ scheduled to be released this Friday.
Sachin has always been a private person and the movie is expected to tell a lot more than what his fans know. The hype and excitement is therefore justified. Meanwhile, the legendary batsman is reportedly having butterflies in the stomach before the launch of the film.
“There are personal moments in the film and some family footage. I know fans want to see something more than what they have in the last 24 years,” revealed 44-year-old Sachin.
The movie will dwell on the highs and lows of Sachin’s career. The fans have had a look at what happens on-field. Now, it’s time to cherish what happens off-field.
“This film really is the story of the man, and while cricket is a huge part of his life, it is just one chapter,” said British filmmaker and director James Erskine.
Other celebrities, including Ranveer Singh are excited about the launch of the movie. The ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actor has expressed his keen desire to watch the “greatest sportsman of all time” in theatres.
Cricket hungry fans are likely to throng the theatres this weekend and chant “Sachin, Sachin” one more time in front of the silver screen.
