As has been the case in the past, IPL has hogged the limelight well before its start. Virat Kohli’s absence for the initial part of the tournament is making news big time.
Thankfully for the fans, the master batsman is expected to recuperate from his shoulder injury and will join RCB after missing the first few matches. Australian all-rounder Shane Watson will lead RCB in Kohli’s absence.

“Its unique selling proposition is that most of the stadiums are packed, and it is being watched around the world,” chairman of IPL Rajeev Shukla was quoted as saying to AFP.
It is noteworthy to mention that the tournament has thrived notwithstanding the match fixing and corruption controversies. Teams have been suspended, management has changed hands, players have come and gone, but the IPL juggernaut rolls on.
“There may have been some aberrations but the strongest possible action was taken. We have ensured that corruption does not creep in,” added Shukla.
The tournament provides an ideal platform for young and budding cricketers to prove their worth and jump onto the big league.
IPL 10 starts April 5, 2017 and ends 21, 2017 with the final in Hyderabad.
