After delivering a tremendous performance in IPL T20, 2016 by scoring an unparalleled four centuries and making over 900 runs in the whole series , Kohli still has got a lot left in the tank and is continuing to make even more records.
Virat Kohli, 27, became the first Indian captain to score double hundred on overseas. Virat made the record score of two tons on the second day of the ongoing test match between India and West indies. Kohli scored a record of 200 in 283 balls, he completed his double century by taking a single just before lunch break.
Social media went ballistic after Virat took the final run, and made the record of being the first Indian captain to score double hundred overseas. Many cricket legends have also congratulated Kohli on his double ton.
Kohli started his innings strong and made a partnership of 105 runs with Shikhar Dhawan and 168 runs with fellow Indian all-rounder R. Ashwin, taking the score to a mammoth 566 runs.
Unfortunately just after the lunch break, Kohli got bowled by pacer Shannon Gabriel and soon after that India also declared at 566/8.
Adding to the double hundred record, Kohli also became first Indian cricketer to score a double century overseas in the last decade, also he made the highest score by any cricketer in his maiden test innings as captain in West Indies. As the comparisons with Sachin Tendulkar are ramping up and after decimating so many records, future does look bright for the mighty ‘Virat Kohli’.
