India is going strong with defense and trade connections with the Czech Republic and the opening of new visa processing centers in the Country, is welcome news for many. There are 6 visa processing centers that the is planning to open in the country in alliance with VFS Global services, and they have recently launched one in Chennai.
On Friday, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India, Milan Hovorka, inaugurated the visa application center of the Czech Republic, in Ethiraj Salai in Egmore, Chennai. Heard about Bata, Skoda, Tatra, Zetor? All are Czech brands that are associated with Indian counterparts. . India has trade deals in automobile, pharmacy, iron and steel and IT with the Czech Republic and in 2015, the bilateral trade ties between the Czech Republic and India touched nearly $1.2 billion. Czech companies have had close business dealings with Heavy Engineering Corporation.
Further diplomatic modalities are expected between the two countries and details will be discussed when the Czech Prime Minister visits India for further talks.
According to Milan Hovorka, “India’s role in Czech foreign trade is steadily growing thanks to the India’s strong embarkation on liberalization process as the exponential growth of Indian economy has created opportunities for EU and Czech companies. India has become the second largest Asian trade partner of the Czech Republic.”
With the opening of this new center the applicants can now submit their Schengen visa applications in Chennai itself and they don’t have to travel all the way to New Delhi, Mumbai or Bengaluru. Many travel agents confirmed that Chennai was a hot favorite for people and they preferred it as a “visa center”. The Czech companies also consider the Indian markets as a lucrative and profitable destination for their foreign trade links.
