Sir Dominic Asquith, Britain’s High Commissioner to India, has plans to work on improving work ties between UK and Uttar Pradesh and for that he traveled to Lucknow for the first time to meet up with Akhilesh Yadav , the Chief Minsister of Uttar Pradesh. He welcomed the people who availed the U.K visa service, at the new centre opened in Lucknow. Each month, on the third Tuesday, people interested in traveling to the United Kingdom, can put in an application for their visas, at this new centre, in Lucknow. This has happened for the first time in UP.
Customers can now submit their visa applications for U.K. on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Golden Tulip Hotel along with their documents, passport and complete biometric information, a compulsory formality for the visa application.
According to the High Commissioner from Britain, Sir Dominic Asquith ,”I am delighted to visit India’s most populous state to find out how Uttar Pradesh and the UK can work more closely together. The UK already has more Visa Application Centers in India than we have in any other country, and I am pleased that we are expanding our footprint into Uttar Pradesh. There has been a growing demand for UK visas from the state, and we hope that it will encourage more people from Uttar Pradesh to think of the UK for tourism, study, trade and investment,” he stated happily.
On the other hand, Nick Crouch , UKVI’s Regional Director for South and Southeast Asia has also confirmed the news about the new visa centre and he stated that the announcement of its commencement was made during the India visit made by the UK Immigration Minister .
He confirmed “During the visit he also announced a number of other improvements including a new application form for visitors and allowing first-time visitors to use the Priority Visa service. These improvements have been well received and are all part of UKVI’s strategy to make it quicker and easier for Indian customers to apply for UK visas. UKVI and our commercial partner VFS Global will continue to monitor demand for the Lucknow visa service and look to adjust it accordingly.”
The people who are hailing from Uttar Pardesh and its neighboring States can now apply at this visa application center that was started on Tuesday, May 17th 2016, by the . On the third Tuesday every month, from 9.am-5 p.m, the visa center will remain open for customers to submit applications for their U.K. Visa, confirmed an official.
There are nearly 15 other centers spread out by the British High commission in different parts of India. People hailing from Bihar and Uttarakhand will also appreciate the opening of this centre for UK visas. An official also stated that people from UP who had to travel all the way to New Delhi to submit their visa application and other important documents will find this new centre very convenient. After the processing is done the centre will dispatch the documents back to the visa applicants via courier, he said.
