It’s a well known fact that smoking is a risk factor of heart disease.

But do you really know what smoking can offer you?

Here are some hard known facts:

* Every 8 seconds, someone dies from the use of tobacco.

* Every cigarette smoked shortens 7 minutes of life.

It is a sad gospel truth that the youth are still picking up this deadly habit.

If I talk in terms of figures then about 80,000 to 100,000 children worldwide start smoking everyday and half of children among them are Asian.

There are variety of reasons why young people start smoking:

They do this to relieve stress and any kind of tautness and traction. It can be even out of curiosity and fun or they even simply seek for the peer acceptance.

Whatever the reason may be, they will eventually become addicted to smoking due to nicotine that is addictive as heroin or cocaine.

Nicotine enters the body through the mouth, throat and lungs and takes only about 10 seconds to travel from the smoke in the lungs to the brain.

In addition, every cigarette contains 4,000 other chemicals apart from nicotine.

Smoking can even increase the risk of lung diseases, heart diseases, cancer, osteoporosis, and stroke.

So, before you even give smoking a thought, ask yourself if you are ready to accept the other perks it has to offer to you as well?
