Sumeet Raghavan enters Bollywood
The love between the stars of small screen and Bollywood can never cease…this time, Sumeet Raghavan, a popular TV star with a plethora of ads, is all set to reach the final destination- SILVER SCREEN.
Sumeet has a number of great soaps and ads under his belt and his claim to fame came with his role of Dr. Sahil Sarabhai in Star One's best ever comic venture ‘Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai’. The last he was seen as the ghost friend of Sudhanshu Pandey in the serial ‘Akela’.
The multi-lingual actor quotes, "I was trained in classical singing for 10 years and have lost touch for the past 17 years; this was an opportunity to get back on the floor. In fact, I hadn't thought of it till Ajay Bhalwankar, Creative Head Zee Marathi insisted that I should try being a part of this celebrity special. Also, I was bored with TV on the whole and this came in as an interesting platform, so here I am."
After essaying these two great roles, which were poles apart from each other, Sumeet is heading towards Bollywood, and will soon be seen in Ajay Devgan' home production, Devgan Entertainment and Software Limited’s ‘U Me aur Hum’.
When he was asked if he was quitting TV, the talented actor said that going to Bollywood doesn’t mean that he will leave his first love. So all you Sumeet fans….you can see him not only on small screen, but also on the silver screen, facing the brigade of talented actors.
Talking about his role in the flick, Sumeet reavealed that he plays Ajay’s bum chum and will always be seen besides him in the film. The title of the film sounds comedy, but this is not so…the film is a mature romantic love story between Ajay and wife Kajol….ahem ahem….so here we see a real life couple romancing in reel life.
When asked about his experience in the film, Sumeet replied, "It's been great! We belong to the same school of acting: completely natural and spontaneous! And being such big stars they are so down to earth. I have done some solo shots and am waiting to share my screen space with them, now. "
The flick is not only Sumeet’s debut film, but also Ajay’s maiden film as a director….lets hope the two do well in their respective new fields that they have entered.
