Workers are the real strength of BJP -- Nitin Gadkari

Party president Nitin Gadkari said that BJP is not owned by a particular family, but it belongs to its workers, who are the real strength of the party.

Workers are the real strength, says Gadkari
While addressing a gathering after unveiling the statue of the senior party leader, Lakhi Ram Aggarwal, in Kharsia village, he said that BJP is a party of the workers and only a worker can become a chief minister or prime minister in his party.

Gadkari said, “BJP is governing nine states. It is the main opposition party in the Lok Sabha and has many legislators and MPs. The BJP owes its success to dedicated workers like Lakhi Ram Aggarwal.”

Gadkari said that the BJP is not averse to modernisation but opposes ‘westernisation’.

He said that politics is not a medium of winning elections and capturing power. Instead, he said, it is an effective medium through which social and economical change can be achieved.

Gadkari praised the Chhatisgarh government
While inaugurating the statue installed in front of the railway station, Gadkari also praised the Chhattisgarh government led by chief minister Raman Singh.

He said that the government is constantly working for the extension of roads, electricity supply, education, and health care facilities. The state government is also working for the development of the tribal areas, he said.

Gadkari said that the Chhattisgarh government has succeeded in creating a successful public distribution network which is considered the best in the country.

The chief minister of Chhattisgarh, Raman Singh, who was also present at the function, announced that the medical college being constructed in Raigarh will be named after Lakhi Ram Aggarwal.
