In a low key affair, the Junior Badal took the oath in Punjabi at Raj Bhawan, Chandigarh.
After the ceremony, he assumed his office at the Civil Secretariat and said, “Since the government has a clear three years to go, I would now focus on translating all promises made in the election manifesto into official policies."
Junior Badal has made a sweeping entry into the Punjab Assembly after winning the by-elections from Jalalabad constituency last week by a record margin of 80000 votes.
Earlier, he had to resign from the post of Deputy Chief Minister on July 1 as he could not get himself elected within six months of being sworn in.
