Through its recently launched EcoSikh, SCORE endeavors to involve the entire Sikh community throughout the world to help towards the current problem of global warming.
EcoSikh intends to contribute to the UNARC Seven Year Plan project to initiate major religions of the world to help towards global warming.
The plans will be launched this November at Windsor Castle.
According to Dr Rajwant Singh, chairperson of SCORE, “EcoSikh provides an unprecedented opportunity for the Sikh community. Throughout our history, Sikhs have been pioneers in environmental work and continue to be so today. EcoSikh will help the community to connect all that is already being done and will enable us to forge new paths toward the creation of a sustainable and eco-friendly planet.”
A consultation will be hosted in July this year in New Delhi by ARC and SCORE to provide a platform to the leaders of the Sikh community for holding discussions and forming agreements on EcoSikh plan. The consultation will also help towards providing the relative infrastructure for putting plans into action.
According to Secretary General of ARC, Martin Palmer, “The Sikh Five Year Plan is the next historic step in the Sikh communities’ commitment to walk faithfully alongside the rest of Creation into a future which they believe they can make both better and greener.”
