India’s special envoy to US, Meera Shankar believes that President Barack Obama's India visit, scheduled for November could take the Indo-US bilateral ties stronger.

"We are confident that the visit would take our relationship to the next level and demonstrate how the two countries are working together to find solutions to the pressing global challenges of the day and for promotion of peace and stability in Asia and beyond", Shankar says.

After signing the agreement regarding reprocessing of US spent nuclear fuel by India, the Indian Ambassador to US says, “The signing of this Agreement today and a few days back, of the Counter-terrorism Cooperation initiative in New Delhi, is also a reflection of our deepening ties."

“We have had in the last month our first Strategic Dialogue, the meeting of the CEO's Forum, as well as several other high level visits,” she revealed.

The government said that the recent agreement will finally fulfill the commitment of implementing the Indo-US Civil Nuclear Agreement made by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President Obama.

Further, India plans to develop civil nuclear energy to fulfill the country’s growing energy requirements and targets to increase the installed capacity to 35,000 MWe by the year 2022 and to 60,000 MWe by 2032.
