IDP Education proposes fast track student visa approval for Australia

Here is good news for students applying to study in Australia. The IDP Education in Australia has proposed changes to fast track the process of visa approval for students.

The proposal if passed will ensure that students don’t have to wait that long to get their visa approved.

IDP said, “The key role of the trusted provider would be to assess the bona fides of the student, their qualifications for the course and their financial capacity.”

Regarding the change, IDP said, “This change would reduce visa processing delays that make Australia lose genuine students to rival countries. Also, the change would give education providers a strong incentive to look out for and act on visa breaches.”

New reform to reduce time span for approval
The new fast-track visa approval would take off the burden from students especially for the students whose assessment is positive.

Student recruiter IDP Education said, "For students whose assessment is positive there should be a faster and more certain visa outcome, which would avoid the more onerous requirements currently applied to assess financial capacity in high-risk countries."

Previously the time taken for approval of visa was 49 days but now after the reform it would take only two weeks.

Though the time span has reduced, it would also put an extra burden on the pocket of the students. Certain agencies in China would charge as high as 12,000 and 15,000 yuan per student for the fast track process.

John Findley, a veteran education counselor and migration agent, said, “There are huge advantages for AL1 students, including merely requiring declarations rather than documentary proof of matters relevant to the visa assessment.

"So if there are advantages, these could be seen to have a marketable value. You can be pretty sure it will not take agencies too long to start charging to put students into the queue."
