The sixth edition of the annual mega information technology event eRevolution will be held in Chandigarh, the knowledge hub of Northern India, from Sept. 29-30.

A joint venture of the Chandigarh Administration, the Punjab government and the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), the two-day event will be hosted at Hotel Mountview.

Preparation of a five-year schedule, adoption of information and communication technologies (ICT) for speedy socio-economic development, improvement of bottom-line for the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and deliverance of citizen-oriented and government-to-business services more efficiently, are some of the issues that will be taken up at the event.

Managing Director of Punjab Infotech Rakesh Verma said, “As a part of the joint endeavor to transform this region into a knowledge hub, the next big step for all stakeholders is to deploy ICT in every sector. Be it education, governance, health, or other services.”

“MSMEs have a great role to play in ensuring an inclusive growth so that benefits of development percolate down to the people who are at the bottom of the pyramid, and transform their lives for the better,” Verma said.

NASSCOM President Som Mittal will head the discussion on the formulation of the five-year road-map for the region.
