Chandigarh, June 29-- A 19-year-old student, who was admitted in a government hospital here after testing positive for swine flu, was discharged after he "recovered well" Monday, an official said.

"A team of six doctors and twelve para-medical staffers were put on duty to take care of the patient. They submitted his health report to the nodal officer of swine flu everyday," said a health official.

"He recovered well and we have discharged him from the hospital."

The patient, who is studying computer science in California, had returned home in Gurdaspur in Punjab, some 250 km from here, June 20 to spend his holidays.

However, he was admitted in the hospital here June 22 with complaints of sore throat, high fever and sneezing - symptoms for the influenza A(H1N1) virus. He tested positive for the virus later.
