Another arrest in Nitin Garg case in Australia
But the Australian government has not cared to inform the family of Nitin about the latest incidence involving their twenty one old son’s brutal death.
“Australian Broadcasting had informed us that an accused has been arrested in the murder case of our nephew in Australia. They have sent us a fax that the murderer is a 15-year-old boy whose motive was neither robbery nor racial abuse,” says Rajkumar, who is Nitin’s uncle.
He adds, “Earlier, the lawmakers had gone to Australia and pursued the police and the authorities, and with the help of the police there they were able to arrest him. Further investigation is on to find the motive behind the murder.”
Back home in India, Honey Garg, Nitin’s elder brother says, “We can’t say anything... we are yet to receive any information officially. Our family friends in Australia informed us in the morning that one of the attackers, a 15-year-old boy, has been arrested.”
No racial attack, claims Australian Government
The Australian police do not believe that the attack on Nitin was racial.
Bernie Edwards, the detective inspector involved in Nitin’s case says, “In our inquiries at this stage, we don’t believe Garg’s death was racially motivated.”
He also said that the Australian police including fifteen detectives are currently investigating and inquiring against the others involved in the killing of the Indian boy.
Nitin’s murder story
Nitin Garg, who was pursuing an accountancy course in Australia, was stabbed to death at Footscray West, Melbourne, on January 2 while he was on the way to a fast food eating joint.
External Affairs Minister, S M Krishna described it as 'heinous crime on humanity' and 'an uncivilized brutal attack on innocent Indians'.
