A Gujarati weekly that is published and brought out from the British Gujaratis, has taken to the Punjabis living in Britain and launched a new monthly, British Punjabis.

CB Patel, who owns the ‘Gujarat Samachar’, was more than excited about his latest endeavor at the launch held in North London recently.

Talking about the new publication, ‘British Punjabis’, he says, “It will get better in the months and years ahead.”

The cover of the first issue of the new English monthly shows the Golden Temple in Amritsar and the contents include essays and eulogies relating to the Punjabis.

The Punjabi generations who were born and brought up in Britain talk to the publication about their lives and work in the foreign country.

Not ashamed of being categorized as Punjabis, they dominate when it comes to their population in Britain and they do not classify themselves as a Hindu or Sikh but as British Punjabi.

Rajesh Prasad, India’s new Deputy High Commissioner in the UK says, “India has always been accepting of people of different cultures. Indians have never believed in a clash or conflict amongst civilizations or cultures.”

The event was a great example of “one very successful and thriving community (Gujaratis) recognizing the success and achievement of another”, concluded Prasad.
